This half-day class introduces participants to powerful workplace mediation skills that can be used in a variety of workplace situations. This mediator-led discussion results in participants being able to improve business misunderstandings quickly and effectively.
The course addresses:
How mediation techniques look and feel;
How to find common ground among those involved in an issue;
How to brainstorm and produce mutually agreeable options;
How to gain agreement, to prioritize, and to set expectations;
How to avoid ambushes and quirky agreements.
Who should attend: The course is designed for entry-level HR professionals, new project managers, new supervisors, and every person who has a responsibility to resolve workplace problems.
The goal: The goal is to give participants an immediate and workable understanding of an important, easy to use option for their business disputes – mediation techniques. These ideas are useful in employee relations matters, legal cases, and human resources, as well as with all setbacks found in internal business disagreements. The class is designed to assure that participants can establish a clear sense of mutual understanding, reasonableness, and closure.
The challenge: How do HR professionals and other workplace partners make the best use of their time when attempting to resolve disagreements? Employee communications mishaps exist. And they need to be put to rest quickly. Issues can include formal disagreements between employer and employee, or they can be found in less formal working relationships. Whatever the circumstances, the challenge is to get people to resolve their differences before they lead to larger disputes.
The result: If you have ever wondered why workplace mediation has become such a popular option in formal disagreements, this presentation will give you the insights about why. More importantly, the course prepares you to assure that any uncomfortable workplace situation you are drawn into is handled professionally, and that your role is one of active leadership and added value.
