Session 1 – Stepping Through the Affirmative Action & Audit Process (2-Day Program)
Tuesday & Wednesday, March 21 and 22, 2017

This program is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the components, technical requirements and objectives of a compliant written Affirmative Action Plan and critical program elements.
This program begins with the basics of the unique and often misunderstood objective of Affirmative Action and ends with what to expect and how to prepare for a compliance evaluation. Upon completion of this program, you will have an understanding of:
- A step-by-step method for meeting technical analysis requirements
- The systematic management of applicant flow in order to minimize exposure
- The additional tools and documentation used to assist in meeting non-statistical requirements
- What a presentation of the “best picture” of affirmative action compliance is
- The “best practices” for meeting additional reporting & posting requirements
- The use of written AAP as a proactive human resource management tool
- Current regulation and compliance evaluation process & trends
Session 2 – Implementing an Effective Affirmative Action Program (2-Day Program)

This program will provide a high-level approach to the implementation of an organization’s Affirmative Action (AA) Program. It will answer the question, “Now that our Affirmative Action Plans are written, what do we do next?”
This program begins with an overview of what an Affirmative Action Plan is and how it is the foundation of an organization’s Affirmative Action Program. A full hour will be dedicated to reviewing VEVRAA/Section 503 Regulations. Upon completion of this program, you will have an understanding of:
- AA Plan vs AA Program
- Responsibility for AA Program implementation
- Key terms & elements of the AA Program
- Regulations, laws & requirements of the AA Program
- Program components, including “Good Faith Efforts”
- Analyzing the results of the AA Plan
- Best practices and impact of the recruitment/selection process
- Applicant definition and applicant flow data compilation
- Training – an effective part of your AA Program
- Recent changes in the Federal Contract Compliance Manual (FCCM)
Session 3 – Affirmative Action Data Collection Techniques (1-Day Program)

This program is designed for HR and IT professionals and system users responsible for the preparation and maintenance of employment data as related to Affirmative Action Program requirements.
This program will review the types of required data elements, common errors & omissions in the required data, as well as auditing tools to assist your organization in maintaining your data throughout the Affirmative Action period. This program will cover the following and more:
- Affirmative Action regulations overview
- Data collection tips
- Required Affirmative Action Plan data elements
- Applicants vs candidates…what is really needed
- Individuals with Disabilities (IWD) Data requirements
