This interactive, one-day class introduces participants to the powerful option of problem resolution through workplace mediation. The mediator-led discussion results in participants being able to evaluate the compatibility of workplace mediations for their businesses and to prepare for their first mediation.
Interactive exercises teach:
- How workplace mediation looks and feels to those attending;
- How to find common ground among mediation participants;
- How to brainstorm and produce mutually agreeable options;
- The importance of agreeing to priorities and expectations;
- How to avoid ambushes and quirky agreements.
Who should attend: The course is designed for HR professionals, project managers, those who supervise, legal teams and for every person who has a responsibility to solve workplace problems.
The goal: The goal of this introduction is to give participants an immediate and workable understanding of an important option for their businesses. From the technical needs of employee relations, legal and human resources professionals, to the setbacks found in other internal business disagreements, the goal is to assure that participants gain a clear sense of workplace mediation reasoning, professional concepts, hurdles and mutual benefits.
The challenge: How do HR professionals, executives and other workplace partners make better use of their time when resolving disagreements? Employee relations’ concerns exist and they vary in nature and context. Issues can include formal disagreements between employer and employee, or they can exist less formally in day-to-day working relationships. The challenge is to get people to resolve differences before they lead to legal disputes or business dysfunction.
