In today’s challenging business climate, the need to continuously create a higher level of employee job satisfaction, build employee loyalty and commitment, and increase employee contribution through performance has never been greater! This workshop will provide your leadership team the tools to better align and engage your employees in direct support of key business goals and objectives!
There has been a lot of talk about “the engaged employee” causing much confusion about management’s role in making it a reality. Active Employee Engagement means different things to different organizations. The reality is that there are multiple levels of employee engagement and therefore multiple and often contradictory definitions and interpretations as to exactly what it is and how to get it. The Workforce Foundation recently defined Employee Engagement in the following way:
“Employee engagement describes an employee’s emotional and intellectual commitment to their job and organization and their combined success. Engaged employees experience a compelling purpose and meaning in their work and give of their discrete effort to advance the organization’s objectives.”
Active Employee Engagement. occurs only when an individual employee’s or team of employees’ level of contribution (performance) and personal level of satisfaction in their role (sense of value-added) align for maximum job satisfaction (“I like my job and I do it well”) and maximum job contribution (“I understand and help the organization to achieve its goals”) . Actively engaged employees are not just committed – they are passionate about their jobs and the organization. They have a line-of-sight to the organization’s vision, mission, goals, and strategies as well as their own future. Active employee engagement occurs when the two axes of contribution and satisfaction align. Management’s role is to create this alignment!
