Workshop Leader: Thornton Mason, National Director of Workplace Mediation, with Mediation Resolves
This highly interactive, one-day class unlocks a fun and powerful conversational skill whose origins are based in workplace mediation.
The course is designed for HR professionals, project managers, those who supervise and for every person who holds the job title “co-worker.”
The challenge: How do co-workers, bosses, executives, and other workplace partners make the absolute most of their limited time speaking with or writing to each other?
The idea: From the 60 second “coffee pot” conversation to the more lengthy project team work, this idea assures reason, thoroughness, mutual benefits, and the avoidance of unexpected distractions from the matter at hand. It improves efficiency and professional demeanor.
The material: The classroom discussion identifies the core elements of successful workplace mediation and then translates those ideas into an easy to remember, valuable to use conversational skill.
The format: Discussion and short interactive exercises include:
- Understanding what you are (really) being asked to do;
- Finding common ground (or maybe you are the wrong person);
- Brainstorming that produces mutually agreeable options;
- Agreeing to priorities and expectations;
- Avoiding ambushes and quirky agreements.
The result: This presentation gets you ready to practice your new skill as soon as the next day. This entire class has a singular purpose – to provide you with an immediately useful communications tool.
Learn a great conversational skill and, as an added extra, get an introduction to workplace mediation.
